Spring Summer 2019 Fashion Trends You Need To Know

Hey you! Tired of chasing fashionistas for latest trends online? We did the groundwork for you!

Put aside that metallic gloss dress and tweed coat, because new season is coming to town. We absolutely fell in love with SS19 fashion trends. There is all you need everything – from feathery dresses to cycling shorts (now you can shamelessly wear them with a blazer). Everything is off limits  – from comfortable tailoring, longer dress lengths and relaxed outerwear in flattering to fluid shapes and minimalism.

SS19 trends are so diverse, like the world we live in. In the same time each of them has a common thing by telling – you can have whatever you want. Something like Cyndi Lauper in “Girls just wanna have fun” – strong, confident, sorry screws everyone and always walking in the sun.

Yes, tone of voice is confidence.

Although self-assurance for women is mostly associated with feminism, there is no doubt that it is one of the main keywords for this season. Society is still affected by #timeisup #metoo and other movements. Now, more than ever, fashion is talking more & more about equality. Let’s keep this trend going!

Fashion industry keeps searching for what an intelligent, 21st century woman might wear in 2019 and here you can take a look at some of the most popular hottest trends of SS19. We hope to see them not only on runways but in your wardrobe as well.

Love & be Bold

Seems like animal prints took over 2018. Well, it still keeps rolling and is great! According to the runways—and the statistics that go with them—fashion’s best friend is still very much at your side. Only this season leopard prints are becoming more elegant and feminine.

It’s 80’s, darling

Clockwise form left top: Vivienne Westwood, House of Holland, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton

Just like leopard prints, it would appear that the 1980s are still very much alive. That’s why keep your head up because logos, chain jewellery and sharp shoulders are still on.

There is no doubt that beige is one of the chicest colors women can wear. This color palette can make outfit look more expensive than it really is simply because beige colors reflect elegance and sophistication. It doesn’t matter what kind of beige you are wearing. It can be oatmeal, biscuit, blush or off-white – this season the full spectrum of beige is in trend.

Neon and Bold Colors

Clockwise from left top: Roland van der Kemp, Milly, Milly, Dion Lee

If there are 1980s, of course, there will be neon too. You can add only one detail or be a neon cyberpunk. It doesn’t matter because neon is everywhere.

Prairie dress

Clockwise from left top: Alexander McQueen, Alexander McQueen, Ulla Johnson, Erdem

Just as in summer of 2018, this season prairie dress is still a thing. These long-sleeved, long-length, often floral or broderie anglaise styles are just the trend we have been looking for. So feminine and romantic, but at the same time a dress that is super-casual for everyday wearing. Style yours with boots and long vest, and get ready to rule the world.

Athletic looks

Clockwise from left top: AALTO, Sportmax, Blumarine, Mugler

In 2019 fashion has taken us more outdoors. This season fashion shows love for surfing, cycling, skating inspired looks.

An unexpected thing this season is cycling – shorts trend. Yes, you can wear cycling shorts with a blazer. Some may love it and some may hate it, but it’s still a thing. They can be combined with almost anything: whether it is a blazer or an oversized sweat. It’s all about contrasts!

Utilitarian Style

Clockwise from left top: Tod’s, Sportmax, Armani, Blumarine

This season must-have is a boilersuit. Yet no wonder why all fashionistas are loving it. With loose-fit cut you’ll feel comfy and boilersuit lets you style it with almost anything. Feel cool during day wearing sneakers and chick at night by wearing high-heels.

Extra dose of accessories

Clockwise from left top: Prada, Jacquemus, Escada, Alexander McQueen

If your accessories for spring/summer 2019 aren’t big enough to warrant their own postcode, fashion isn’t interested. The bigger the better! This season fashion demands you to be brave and why not make a statement by wearing loads of colors and sparkles.

Fringe and feathers

Picture clockwise from left top: Phillip Lim, Aigner, Byblos, Gucci

If ruffles were 2018, then fringing is so 2019! This season you’ll see this detail quite often whether it’s a sleeve, bag, shoe or necklace. There is a huge potential of this bohemian look.

Nostalgic Vacay

Picture clockwise from left top: Anna Sui, Dolce&Gabbana, Michael Kors, Marni

“The comfort of nostalgia is a powerful influence right now—as always happens in times of socio-economic uncertainty,” says Gordon-Smith. “We all regress to perceived happier times and for the current incarnation of key designers and stylists, this is about their best memories.”

Yes, as well as 1980s there is also a lot of going on about 1960s. We always love to remember good times that’s why let’s sink in vintage with cat-eye sunglasses and vibrant swimsuits.

Sage Green

Clockwise from left top: Gauchere, Gauchere, Stella McCartney, House of Holland

As always pastels have it’s victory march. This season with tag #greenaesthetics you may recognise not so popular sage green shade. It’s precise amount of green and pastel shade is giving a new look to well-known color.

California Dreaming

Picture clockwise from left top: Etro, Sportmax, Prabal Gurung, Calvin Klein

In Spring/Summer 2019 fashion has a shark fever. Calvin Klein is obsessed with “Jaws” by dressing models in fangirl T-shirts. Also surfing motives appear in many collections. Can you feel summer breeze flowing in your head?

Lace is no longer featured only in romantic dresses and evening looks. Next season exemplars have lace sliced and diced, and reworked into masculine silhouettes.

Folk elements are all over this year’s spring/summer trends. From patchworked Seventies-era crochet to fisherman weaves to macramé appliqué. Let your artistic sense and bohemian spirit flow, because this year craft work has no boundaries.

Do you remember how easy it was for Holly Golightly to catch a taxi in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? Yes, maybe taxi was just right on time and it was a coincidence, but maybe it was because she wore the right hat? We all want to be like Holly, right?

Today hats are so unrated. If it says “you are not fully dressed without a hat” why not take the biggest one? Fancy yours with feather, fringe and rule this year’s fashion trend.

Prints All Over

Clockwise from left top: Christian Wijnants, Dolce&Gabbana, Aigner, Louis Vuitton

2019 is nearly a saturation point for prints. Now, they should be worn all-over, clashed merrily and madly with little concern for what goes with what. Fashion industry brands like Versace and Dolce&Gabbana showed that puritanical pieces can be mixed with the proud, executed in retina-searing hues. Now let’s see how far prints can go.

Juicy Suits

Clockwise from left top: Each Other, Gucci, Christian Cowan, Matthew Adams

The easiest way to refresh your wardrobe and everyday life is by purchasing a nice fruity suit. At the recently revived Escada, suits came in saturated shades of mimosa, while citrus shades proliferated at Balenciaga, Roksanda, Peter Pilotto and Boss. Of course, black and white is always a classic but let’s admit that tutti frutti shades can make everyday life much more fun.

Bows are Going Further

Clockwise from left top: Ralph&Ruso, Adeam, Marc Jacobs, Christian Cowan

Luckily, times when bows were only hairstyle accessories are gone. In Spring/Summer 2019 bows can be pinned to your shoulder blades or majestically affixed right behind you. At Emilia Wickstead show bows were bouncing as Pavlova cakes that just have been served; at Valentino they completed feminine look with lilac silhouette, but at the same time exploded screaming about power and independence of a woman.

Bleach is Still On

Clockwise from left top: Dior, House of Holland, Stella McCartney, Aalto

Just as 80s don’t go away acid wash denim is noticeable on many fashion shows. Brands like Isabel Marant, Off-White and Celine shows good old acid wash denim in new combinations. Give your outfit a bleach treatment.
